09 Dec Book Donation to Özyeğin University Library
The Gastronomic Society of Turkey has donated a collection of books to the Özyeğin University Library.
The nearly 250 books—carefully classified and catalogued by the university library team under the meticulous work of the Collection Management department—include both Turkish and international publications printed from the 1970s to the present. Alongside books that explore the culinary traditions and recipes of various regions and communities of Anatolia, the collection also features works on food culture, as well as the Society’s own publication, The Edible Herbs of Our Homeland. The collection has now taken its place on the shelves and is available for student use.
Thanks to the Interlibrary Loan (ILL) system, students from other universities will also be able to request and consult these books as reference materials, enriching their cultural knowledge.
We extend our gratitude to the Dean of the Faculty of Applied Sciences, Prof. Gökhan Özertan, to the Associate Dean of the Gastronomy and Culinary Arts Department, Prof. Özge Samancı, to Defne Ertan Tüysüzoğlu, Director of Le Cordon Bleu, and to the entire Özyeğin University Library team for providing detailed information to our Chair Esin Sungur and Board Members Oya Emerk and Saliha Kayaş regarding the cataloguing and usage process of the donated books, and for hosting our Society at L’Atelier Bleu Restaurant, where students take part both in the kitchen and in service.
